Foreign citizens who decide to move to Turkey and apply for a residence permit must purchase health insurance. Medical insurance for foreigners is compulsory for persons over 18 years of age and under 65.
Insurance for a residence permit covers 100% inpatient and 80% outpatient treatment in contract clinics. It must be remembered that such insurance has a waiting period.
Car insurance
OSAGO is compulsory civil liability insurance for vehicle owners. The purpose of this compulsory insurance is to ensure the protection of the rights of victims to compensation for damage caused to their life, health or property when using vehicles by other persons.
OSAGO foreign car:
For cars with foreign license plates that have been in Turkey for more than 3 months, the presence of a compulsory motor liability insurance policy is mandatory. The MTPL policy can be purchased for 3, 6 or 12 months.
Registration of a car with foreign license plates at customs will be carried out for the period specified in the OSAGO policy.
CASCO is voluntary car insurance in case of any type of damage, theft, fire, vandalism, etc. Insurance compensation is paid for almost everything, except for road accidents committed while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
For the entire time the car is being repaired, the insurance company pays its client to rent a car of a similar class. The cost of CASCO varies among different insurance companies and depends on the insurance program, engine power, make, model, age of the car, and driving experience.
